I never was able to remove my screen on those type windows either, I used a piece of rug fabric and ran the rug side over the screen to clean.
You can wrap a piece of rug fabric around a block of wood and staple or nail, for a better grip and can also clean your door screens a lot easier also.

To remove and clean behind the screens covering the lower 'tilt out' window sections on our DS, I did the following:

1. Opened the lower section of window. Then used a phillips screwdriver to remove the knob that tilts out the window.
2. Gently pried out the metal screen frame along the top edge, starting at the edge nearest the coach wall.
3. Once a section of the screen frame was free of the window, the little wire clips holding it in place can be seen. Just carefully pull the rest of the screen frame away from the aluminum window frame.
4. Vacuum the aluminum window frame track; clean the inside of the window; clean the extend/retract mechanism; wipe the rubber seal clean; gently wash/air dry the screen.
5. Hook the bottom wire clips on the screen into place on the window frame. Gently press the top of the screen frame window clips back into place. They will snap the screen back tightly against the window frame.
6. Slip the window crank knob back onto the splines, and replace the phillips screw. Close the window. Enjoy the 'improved' view.

We just vacuum and use a damp rag.
