Do any of you know roughly how far in advance a person should be scheduling an appointment at the factory for warranty service these days?

I have a 2008 Kountry Aire 5th wheel and would like to get it to the factory sometime before the end of my warranty, which runs until mid-May 2010. However, I am somewhat constrained as to when I can take it to the factory since the Kountry Aire is in MT, and I am now in PA, and I don't want to have to tow in snow.

Thanks.

John

The last three years that I have been at the factory I have been told at least six months. I would imagine it might be considerably shorter in the present economy. I would give them a call and get the info first hand.

I was able to get a early service date on a cancelation day after EASTER in 2006.
You have to call to find out.

Now that most of the 3 year warranties have expired the long wait to get work done is a lot sooner.
Again call the factory as they are the only the ones who can give you a time frame.

Hi John: FWIW, we just (a couple days ago) called and got an appt. for May 18th. If you're leaving PA headed for MT, give em a call now and set up a convenient time. Ya probably won't have to worry about towing in snow if ya can get a late April, or a May appt. BUT,.....ya never know!! Steve & Lynette

I always called in Jan for my summer appointments.
Now, with the one year warranty on many units and the cut back to 4 days a week and scaled back work force, who knows.
I would still give yourself plenty of room for appointment.
call Phil or email him, he will set up an appointment for you.

Thanks everyone for you replies. I'll call Phil and take it from there. I knew I had to call for an appointment but this gives me some idea about the leadtime.

Hey John (MT flyfisher): As an old "flyfisher" from Northern Minnesota, I'd LOVE to hear about fishing Montana. Have read numerous articles but was wondering where YOU might suggest. I've beat around the Clark Fork a bit, but that's all I know. Steve

Steve -

We stay at Yellowstone's Edge RV Park, which is right on the Yellowstone River, 35 miles north of Yellowstone Nat'l Park. We moved all over the NW US and Canada for several years chasing fish, before settling there. In our opinion, it is the best RV park in MT. They have a website, and a webcam that you can operate yourself to see what the RV park, river, mountain scenery, etc. looks like if you're interested - but it is a bit barren there this time of the year. The site is: mtrv.com

I also keep a drift boat and other toys there year round, and from June to October I'm fishing on the Yellowstone, or other places practically every day.

We had been staying in Missoula for a week or 2 every year when we were moving from place to place, and then I often floated and fished the Clark Fork. I've been going to Montana for over 30 years so I've been on most of the better known rivers and lakes, and many lesser known ones, many times over the years.

As far as suggestions, a lot would depend on your interests and capabilities. As I'm sure you know, a lot of the better fishing on the bigger rivers like the Clark Fork, are best suited to floating the river in a boat or raft. If you want to PM me and let me know what types of places interest you, perhaps I can give you some places to think about.

John

Hi John,
We made an appointment last week and got April 14 and that was because I could not go in March.
Thanks, Daryl
