How to lower ceiling air conditioner panels

I'm needing to lower the ceiling air conditioner panels (3 of them) for filter cleaning on my 2015 Dutch Star. I do this a couple times every year but lately it seems my old fingers just are not able to get a good grasp on an edge/end.

I can get a hold on one corner of two of the panels and break lose the magnet (but it sure hurts), but the 3rd panel fits so close to the trim that I can't get any more than just the tips of my fingers under it, which isn't enough.

Has anyone managed to used any kind of tool to pry the magnets loose without damaging the wood work?

Turn around, open the kitchen utensil drawer, pull out a plastic spatula or two, and wedge it in between the opening to put something between the magnets?

I agree, they are hard to wedge a finger or two (or three) between those magnets.

Thanks, never thought about getting something between the magnets, was just working on pulling the magnets apart, especially starting with an end one. Will try the wife's spatula.

Just use a butter knife.
