how to remove magnetic entry door switch

My switch is in the door about six inches from the bottom on the latch side of door. I need to replace the switch with new. How is the switch held in place? I can see no screws etc holding it to the door frame and access to see it is very poor.

Mine had two screws holding it in. They were hidden in the carpet around the switch.

Is this the switch for steps may just be inserted in cut out hole. pry the tabs with a thin flat screwdriver.
The wire leads for switch if steps go to the chassis frame under steps area and is one of the grounds that needs to most cleaning.

On my door frame there is a black round (?) part that looks just like the magnet part that is installed in the door. Does it pry out? It is impossible to get to from the back side of door frame. When the steps don't deploy a simple tap on the switch makes it work. Sooner or later I know this will stop working.
