Walking down the hill the other night to the rig I hear the sound of the generator slide cover starting to open/close/open/close as I approach. When I get near the rig I can smell overheated electronics.

Cycled the cover open/closed once & it stopped, and hasn't done it again; but that is no guarantee it won't & I have no clue as to where to begin troubleshooting. The last thing I want to have is an electrical fire, so I pulled the multi-pin plug out of the side of the HWH box & made sure that that killed power to the gen slide cover - it did, but the slide cover has to remain at least partially out so I can reach the plug & that allows rain to ingress.

Anybody out there had this problem? Any possible areas for me to focus on?

Clean the switch in the front run bay with elect. contact spray? Next trace the wiring to the HWH box?

Any chance moisture got into the connector or elsewhere?

Route 66 - distinct possibility. I had pressure washed the side of the coach the day before & the compartment door under the drivers seat leaks like a sieve. I opened it to let it air dry but the switch could very well have had a whole lot of moisture in it.

Alan1 - I'll check out the wiring tomorrow.

Thanks guys.

Mark

Mark, Turn off the power to your chassis. That's the switch back in the engine compartment. Once it is off, you can then unplug the connections at the bottom inside the electricronic bay beneath the driver's side window. Check all for moisture. You can also remove the switch and check it too. Do remember, if you are messing around in there to alway turn off the chassis power first.
Perhaps you have already fixed this issue as I am probably late on this post. Good luck.

Peter
