HWH Jack Problem

For the last few months I've had to relevel the coach every few days because the passenger side is low. A couple of days ago I measured the extended jack when level. Today it is almost two inches shorter, so it is slowly going down. I don't see any sign of leakage on the jack. Any ideas?

Sounds like a valve leak in the system. We had that with a Spartan Chassis and Spartan found the valve and replaced it.

Check the manual valves on the pump. One might not be snug, or the solenoid valve is leaking.

Perry White has already said this, but I will give you a little more detail:

We have the same MH as you, except one year older. Therefore you probably have the same HWH jack system. If you are seeing no leaks, then the solinoid for that jack is leaking by. It could be the manual release. It is the small nut on the end of the solinoid. The dipstick for the tank has a nut driver built into the end of it. Use it to check to see if that nut is tight. If that does not solve it, then you probably will have to replace the solinoid, I paid slightly over $100 last year for one.
BTW, if you have a solinoid fail, with jacks extended, you can retract them by opening this nut. I believe it is to be turned no more than 4 full turns.

PKMesser, thanks for the info. I have the HWH 325 series and the solenoid release nut is as you describe. That nut driver on the dip stick doesn't seem to fit the nuts too well. I may go out one more time today and use a better one. The solenoids don't seem to be labeled for which jack they control. I suppose I can disconnect the electrical leads and see which jack doesn't work.

When I had a HWH issue I was talking to HWH they told me that they had several caps go out with the wrong size socket on the end, of course mine was one. I carry a 1/4 socket to open the valves if I need to. Are you having issues with the jacks on the passenger side only?

Mine is the 325 also, if your's is plumbed like mine, the RF is the 3rd solinoid back.

pkmesser, thanks for the "3rd solenoid back" info. I saw on another thread someone just replaced the O-Rings and that solved their leak down problem. I see others describing the removal process as using channel locks to unscrew the solenoid. Is that the way you did it?

That was a year ago, but I am reasonably sure that's the way I did it. (channel locks that is). Not so sure about the O ring idea, that precludes a leak to the outside, but internally ??? However, O rings are cheap and quick. so give it a try.

BTW, when I had the issue with mine, I went through and determined which solinoid went to each jack, and then marked on the houseing which is which, with a magic marker.

When you say you were talking with HWH, were you able to get through to someone right away? I have called them a few times about getting a jack sent to them and I keep getting told that they will take my name and number and call me back. It usually takes about two days for them to get back to me. If there is another way to get through to them on a more timely manner, I would appreciate any suggestions.

pkmesser, I have no visible sign of a leak, just the jack slowly retracting. Would you mind sharing all 4 solenoids and which jack they operate?
