I went across Hwy 2 a few years ago with no problem, nice road, nice ride. It good to get off the interstate sometimes.

gard1941;
I cannot speak to Hyw 13 in Montana, but last summer on our return trip from Alaska to Tennessee, we drove east across MT on US 2, entered North Dakota and spent the night in Williston, ND. We dropped south to I-94 on US 85. It was a beautiful drive, passing next to the Theodore Roosevelt NP. Medora is only a few miles backtracking on I-94 and only took a few minutes. We used the CG at Medora for a base to visit the National Park and the music show at Medora.

Hope this helps.

Bob

Hwy 85 is a beautiful drive. However the oil boom has made HWY 85 very busy with car and truck traffic. Alot of chit chat on local state news, that its not a fun drive. Don't miss the Medora musical, its great. I will be there in August.

We have been on hwy 2 numerous times (thru 2004). The only thing that got our attention was the lack of shoulders. Also, in MT they use small gravel to resurface. Can be a windshield problem.

I've driven highway 2 two times in the motorhome. It is a beautiful and relaxing drive. You will enjoy it.

We've also traveled Hwy. 2. Nice two lane road. HOWEVER, we hit a deer causing 6k damage to front of motorhome.
