Newmar's forward thinking and initiative is what keeps them ahead of the pack. Even though they have had to lay off workers and trim costs, as all RV manufacturers have, they continue to make progress and the right discissions. They have added a popular option, soon to be available on all their motorized products, I believe. That product is custom stainless steel trim and accents. While the stainless product will be made by Summit, of Johnston, Iowa, installation will be carried out by Newmar's people. This will benefit the customer and supply additional paided Newmar labour.
There are many owners that may have ordered it had it been offered prior as it is not an anybody-install-after market modification. It had to be installed by Summit's people in Johnston or at a rally. Most owners would never get to Iowa or to any applicable rallies. What a great move on Newmar's part. When business is slow, add more options for those that are still buying.

Their choice of Summit as the supplier fits well with their "Known for top quality" coach reputation. Summit, is one, if not the best custom S.S. builder in the industry.

Jetsmania's new King Aire, will be the first at-the-factory install. Good for Newmar and good for the Jets Man.

Here's the prez of Summit doing an install on my LADB....

On edit: Albert is actually UN-installing the thin trim pieces which were on the LADB, in favor of running the SS trim up to and over the turned edge as discussed in the Amigo thread... This took some "faith" on my part to allow Albert to take this trim off, but as most would agree, the finished product turned out wonderful.

Saw it a couple of years ago when when Summit was at the factory. IMHO we just don't care for it(although we do have it on our Surburban). It looks like it will hold up well over time(unlike the Diamond Shield). I'm sure it will be an often specified option.
