So I removed the exhuast, then removed the stub pipes from the bottom of the Oasis unit, cut 1 inch off it then cleaned painted and never seezed the threads and reinstalled it.

I used Vibrant performance Accuseal 2 inch clamps as they are far superior to ugly U clamps. 3 total.

I posed the hangers above that I used from Pypes and Vibrant for the stainless rods.

You can see in the pics that the pipe is much higher everywhere, 3/8 clearance between the pipe and frame.

Any questions please ask.

Vickie 4369 … agree with Dutch Star Don, very nice looking job. I do have a couple questions.

1) Can you provide a link for where you got the Vibrant Performance Accuseal 2 inch clamps? The ones I am finding are coming up at $74 +/- each ???

2) When you use a SS rod like in your 2nd picture to secure the pipe, do you weld it to the exhaust pipe??

Just trying to make sure I have it figured out before ordering anything.

Thanks,

FLSteve

Vibrant 1163 around 12.00 each, I have them in stock, PM me for contact info.

The rod is welded to the pipe in the middle but welded to the clamp on the tip for easy removal.

The rods are very difficult to remove from the rubber isolators due to the large tip on the rod.

So I just unbolt them from the body.

so my part list consists of the following

vibrant 1163 clamp qty 2

vibrant 1198 stainless rod qty 2

Jones exhaust muffler ATT12S-3 qty 1

Pypes Exhaust Hangers TPHV6 1 box of 2 hangers

1 stainless 2 inch tip ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-ID-Weld-o...72.m2749.l2649

Semi gloss spray Paint and primer in one sorry don't recall the brand.
Mig welder.

55 year old mechanic LOL.

Thanks Vickie 4369 … with the part numbers I was able to find it all. Only missing item is the "55 year old mechanic" so I will just substitute a 64 year old woodworker with no muffler experience!

Thanks for the help.

LOL, Don't forget to drill holes in the muffler body on both ends to let water out.

Also when you look through the muffler it is directional.

The open end of the louvers is the exit.

The pencil tip would also require a drain hole if you go that route.

Ted.

Have the OEM Oasis muffler in the system, but I’m always open to making the system a bit more quiet. Any thoughts about adding this new muffler to the system? That would mean two mufflers. Too much back pressure? Not enough noise control for the effort involved?

These mufflers do not create back pressure on the Oasis system what so ever.

I see no reason why you could not run 2.

A turn down helps with noise as well.

I raised mine 3" and came out the side like FLSteve. I called Jones and asked about back pressure. They said it has very little but more than a glass pack. Also quieter. I have room for the 18", 24 over all and it was only $20. I will check the db level before and after when I get home.

Keep in mind the Oasis furnace will never create enough air flow to find any restriction that this muffler can put on a 350 cubic inch v8 engine.

Note I had the ITR muffler was the wrong one, Threaded, so I sent it back I can tell you first hand it is a cheap mild steel glass pack style muffler with spray paint on it Way over priced.

I also have the ITR inlet muffler installed.

Very Happy with the results.

Ted.

Generator exhaust mod

Here is my Genny exhaust mod.

No more ugly hanger and clamp at the end.

Nice stainless Gibson turn down tip

Raised up about 2 inches from where it was.
