Hi Iamgadget,

Slideout trays in your basement are kind of like having slide out trays/drawers in your kitchen cabinets. You may lose some space, but you won't lose stuff back in the back any longer. We wouldn't have them in every spot, but we do have one in the long pass thru. We purchased ours in Nappanee from DH Machine. They are a block west of Newmar. They have a couple made up that may fit, or they will make to your dimensions if not. We found them very reasonable and have had them do numerous other small jobs for us. They are a metal fabricating shop and do a lot of piece work for Newmar and other RV manufacturers. Consider them if you are going to be near the factory this year.

Try this iRV2 post for some practical reasons to use the 2/3 tray size and not a full side-to-side slide tray. Depends on HOW you pack your stuff.

I have a full tray and a half tray, and they are a mixed blessing.

Storage space will be lost, more than you might expect. For the full tray you are limited in heighth by the rails and also by the distance off the floor probably a total of 1 foot or a little more. Items on the trays that extend beyond the tray will catch on something adjecent and you will have to crawl in to release it, sometime going from side to side for access.
If you can live without full storage space they may be for you.

I removed ours on the passenger side because I could not fit storage totes (too high)
