Ice in the Freezer-- but in the wrong place.

Yesterday after moving to a new campsite I opened up the freezer to get something and a large sheet of ice, about 3/8 inch thick and the width and length of the refer footprint came out when I opened the drawer. This is on the Maytag residential refer .
No water leaks anywhere..... I figure it's the drain for the defrost cycle water that is probably clogged. Anyone seen this before ?

We just got back home after a couple months, so I'll empty the refer and take
look, just looking to see if anyone has had this issue and how they addressed it.
I had a similar issue at my home refer a few years ago, the drain clogged and I poured hot water down the drain and blasted it with compressed air-- been good ever since.

Lots of discussion about this common problem. It’s a design flaw and the factory supplied duckbill drain clogs and no longer functions. There is a repair kit that eliminates the duckbill and replaces it with a drainage “shute”:

The repair can be done in less than an hour but requires pulling the refer out to access the back. There are numerous YouTube vidios that detail the repair.

Mine is scheduled for having that exact thing done next month at North Trail in Ft. Myers. Had the Whirlpool factory tech out and he immediately knew what it was. What he described as the fix is what has been stated in the post above, the faulty drain duck bill assembly.
