In search of penguin II HP install manual

Hi folks ,
I am trying to find an installation manual for a penguin II HP 15k btu ... i have a pair on my KSDP i am replacing.. old 13.5k btu straight air units with 15k btu HP units. I did months of research mostly on here and it seemed pretty doable. Now i have them and have 1 mounted i can'tseem to find any install instructions anywhere.
I read some bits today that heat pumps need 12V DC ? My existing units dont have 12 DC wired to them ...But everyone i talked to said these were direct replacement except for the tstat had to be replaced and I'm aware of those issues. And I saw somewhere today that there may be an issue with the RJ 45 not being pinned the same .... so that's why I'm looking for an install manual.

If your existing Penguin units are either the 4 button or 5 button they have 12V supplied at one of the two A/C units. The second gets it's 12V from the first thru the RJ-11 cable.

I replaced a 5 button CCC plus two old Penguin units with the new CCC2 control and two new Penguin II's, a 15K and 13.5K. The 15K had the exact same part number as yours. It was a simple change, IIRC the front had the 12V supply from the coach, or course yours may be different depending on how Newmar wired them.

The install instructions for the Penguin II 651816 heat pumps with the CCC2 thermostats are here. I also have another manual which seems almost identical but I can't find it online, PM me for a copy. Both manuals cover all the more recent Dometic units, so don't be put off by the reference to Brisk II in the link.

As far as I can tell by reading the manuals, the RJ11 cables are identical for 4 and 5 button CCC thermostats, you should not have any issues upgrading from either to the CCC2.

Don't forget the L-shaped gasket between the supply and return on the units themselves. They don't come this way from Dometic, you can purchase the gaskets from Newmar.

It turns out my link is no longer valid, here is a valid one.

Also the more recent version I wrote about is attached.

The information was exactly what I needed I spent a couple hours on line and found nothing on these particular units !!lol I was sure I did my homework and then ran into a sumation of several posts on the subject with all the information that seems contrary to what I had learned...

As always you have been a great help !
