Installing AGS

Our new to us 2017 Ventana LE I went to set up the AGS and couldn't find the settings. Got hold of the selling dealership and they sent a tech to the campgrounds and informed me that this coach doesn't have AGS. I was under the impression that AGS was standard with the generator but the dealership says it an option. My question is can AGS be installed after the fact and anyone know how much it would cost? Is this something I should make an appointment with the factory or is a DIY project for someone that has very limited knowledge of the electrical system?

Had your coach been optioned with AGS...I believe Newmar would have used the ME-AGS-N networked version...upgraded your Magnum ME-MR Remote to the ME-RC Remote and added the ME-AGS-PT2 pigtail to interface with the Dometic Comfort Control Control box II. This would allow you to program the AGS parameters and arm/disarm right from your remote. HVAC wall thermostat would trigger AGS if set to Temp=Ext. Input.

The standalone AGS might be all you’re looking for...or you might be looking for the features you get with the networked model.

If you have access to someone Ventana LE with AGS it would make it easier for you to see how they hooked up all the components. Of course, scheduling a service appt. with Newmar...would get it accomplished very quickly...they could knock out that project very easily...

I installed an onan ec-30 in a gas holiday rambler that I had, it started the generator on low battery voltage of the house or chassis batteries, also started on temperature call for a.c.. the install was straight forward and not difficult. The hardest part was running wires through the coach. The total cost was around $700.00.it also generated trouble codes for the gen and had maintenance alarms.
