we have 2 one under the bed, bolted into the frame of the MH. The second is in the "old" bdrm tv spot. We put a flat screen there, and low-and-behold there is this nice hidden area behind.

Thanks for simulating some ideas.
I wanted to add a safe or semi-secure storage area. A hidden cabinet can be as secure as a heavy safe unless one is concerned with one that is fireproof (or resistant). Since I am not too concerned with fire, a hidden cabinet would be sufficient for my purposes.
I have two somewhat hidden areas where I could build a locked cabinet. One behind the front, overhead T.V. which was created with the removal of the CRT TV and replaced with a Flat Panel TV. This created a large area that I was going to use for book storage. However, once I installed the flat panel tv, I found that the tv doesnt swing out far enough to make it a very convenient book case. It would, however, make a good location for a locked storage cabinet.
Installing a safe in that area would be difficult to secure properly and probably way to heavy to have hanging overhead.
The same type of space was created in the bedroom when that TV was replaced with a flat panel TV. Again, a locked cabinet , behind the TV would work nicely. That area was going to waste since I could think of nothing to do with it, mainly because the TV does not swing out and must be lifted out of its mounting bracket.
Think I will start building one for the bedroom space.
I am also going to check areas under the bottom drawers for an area to mount a flat style lockbox.

our outside ladder was coming away from the coach.
took it in to be repaired.
the shop said that they could do a so-so job from the outside or they could cut a hole in the closet wall and do a better job from the inside. of course, the inside job was going to take longer because they would have to make something to patch up the hole to our satisfaction.
made their job a lot easier, we suggested they put a wall safe in the opening - and they did. it's not very deep but it works for cameras and passports and tickets to special events and cash (when there is any left over).

Another place to hide things and you're not worried about fire is behind the vent below the shower door. It is actually a service panel for getting to the showers drains..
Plenty of room to store things in a small lock box that your not getting in an out of all the time. I don't like the behind the TV app. just in case the RV was broken into and they wanted to steal the flat screens !

Good point about behind the TVs... I'll keep my diamonds are art somewhere else.
I know about the space under the shower, I had to get into that space last summer. The drain connection was leaking like a sieve. Didnt find out until the gray tank was full do to testing a new washer/dryer installation, and the water backed up into the tub. The additional head pressure and the amount water in the tub caused a leak that ran it the length of the Coach inside and inside the sub-floor, and dripped out under the driver's door.
But, anyway, that is a good space for a small box, and can be accessed with the removal of two screws.

Unless you are looking for fire protection safes are not the answer to securing your valubles. I heard several years ago a campground in Nashville had a rash of thefts where the thiefs where stealing the safes, prying them out with crowbars and doing a great deal of damage in the process. I think "hiding" items with everything in the coach is answer. When someone robs you they want to get in and out as quick as possible, grab the safe and leave. We have had a safe in our coach since 04 and have never used it.

I'd look into can safes. You can find them on line, at safe and lock stores or "smoke" shops. They look just like normal cans of food, drink, or cleaning materials. That way they don't look out of place. No one bothers to take a second look.

I read where a family had a can safe and grandma decided to get rid of the old food. They spent the next three days sifting through the garbage dump to no avail. Only cost them a little over ten grand.

Those cans are not safes just hiding places. I don't know how you get 10k in a pop can, maybe good diamonds or large bills ? In the case of a fire it would be gone. a small fire proof safe isn't very expensive and can be put lots of places and in case of fire you probably have your stuff still there.
