We just bought a 2004 Mountain Aire 5th wheel. It's been lived in but taken care of. It came without the owner's manual, which Newmar says they'll replace for $100; don't want to do that.

My question relates to the cleaning of the sinks, toilet and shower. Our prior rig was a 2004 Itasca Class C. There were very specific cleaning instructions: no abrasives on the sinks, no chemicals. Basically everything was to be cleaned with hot water and mild soap. I realize this was to keep things from getting scratched and the finish from wearing off. Anything I should know about my Newmar?

Also, on the flooring by the front door, there is a huge yellowed area that is due to the sun, I assume. Is there any way to lighten that or take it away completely?

The inside of the regular oven has baked on grease/splatters. Can I use oven cleaner or should I do the ammonia soaked paper towel routine? They are on the back and top of the oven.

The inside top of the convection/microwave also has baked on grease/splatters. What is the best way to clean this?

Thanks for any help you can give me. I am not OCD when it comes to cleaning, but I do like a tidy ship.

Welcome sky watcher to the Newmar forum & irv2.
We have use Soft Scrub with bleach, cleans and gets rid of stains, and your stove any stove cleaner should work. Micro any kitchen cleaner should work like 409.
Congrats on your 5th many happy and safe miles.
Enjoy the forum and do post often.

Thanks for the info, "007." Do you have any idea about the fading on the flooring by the door?

Maybe a rug company has something that may restore it but if its faded bad I would extend the tiles from kitchen floor to entrance area. Newmar can match the tile for area, they are not found in stores.
They are heavy and require adhesive to glue on floor. You will need some extras because of staples in rug over tiles near door.

Might I add when you use the cleaner with bleach use it as a paste on cloth it works easier than rinse with water will leave a clean fresh smell. Can be used on toilet also.

A while back we purchased a preowned 2001 Dutch Star. I found the Owners manuel on their web site. Just go to Newmar on the web and search. It took a while but it was there.

good luck

Please explain how you found an owners manual on Newmar's web site ? I have navigated their site many times and never found any links for one.

Sorry, i was confused. I did not download operating instructions but did download a brochure for our 2001 DSDP last year. This brochure gave general information such as dimensions, floor plans, engine specs, size, holding tank capacity, etc.

I just revisited the Newmar site and now, I can't find the 2001 DSDP brochure site i had previously downloaded. The instruction we received with our unit was prvided from the previous owner in the form of a vcr video tape.

don't know if contacting amazon to see if they might have information at a cheaper price.

good luck,

snail
