My DW and I are full-timers and have been redecorating our coach to suit ourselves. We had a residential fridge installed and the original microwave/convection oven replaced at Truline RV in Spokane last fall. In May we will be back there to have the front carpet and kitchen ceramic tile replaced with a luxury vinyl tile. Although we don't want to "over-improve" the MH, it is our home and we want to be comfortable in it.
We've already replaced the standard recliner with a Stressless leather, Euro-look one and a new Stressless sofa is on order for installation after the floor is finished.
We love our solid walnut cabinetry, but we felt some of the cornices and window surrounds would be more attractive if recovered which we have done ourselves. My DW had experience doing reupholstery so the window treatments were pretty easy. We did, however, pay a shop to reupholster our captain's chairs since working in heavy vinyl materials takes expertise she didn't have.
Some of our friends are amazed at the extent to which we have changed the interior look of the MH. But, in reality, it is no different than redecorating a house, just a bit tighter quarters to work in. We even have some framed art on our (very few) walls, but we find that little touches like that make the coach more "homelike".
