We have a 2008 Essex with the Sterling Silver exterior and interior color/decor. One of my better half's chief complaints about the coach is the rather cold and impersonal interior (and I'm not talking about the temperature). The color schemes are black and greys. The cabinetry is the dark cherry, which while very beautiful, doesn't help to make the interior more warm and inviting. Replacing the coach is not a smart financial move. I'm hearing that refurbishing or redecorating the interior may be an answer. We are happy with how it's furnished -- not looking to make a change there and I'm a big fan of cherry wood so the cabinets stay! Does anyone know if Newmar can/will make a change to a interior decor? Anyone have a similar experience or could make a recommendation/suggestion?

If you gave Newmar a call with number you have and discuss it with them for a price I would think they would do it.
Maybe change window treatments, shade colors and other fabrics.
You can look at the 2012's interiors on their web site for ideas.
Have you considered a interior decorator for ideas and we had a TV show decorator looking to redo a coach last year that you could look into, Backus I think was his name.
During this time period JAN-MARCH 15% off labor.

Maybe I'm overly naive, but it seems to me that any upholstery shop should be able to reupholster the furniture and window valances in any fabric you choose. That can completely change the look. I recently re-did the bedroom in our HR Vacationer. Went to local fabric store, picked out coordinating upholstery fabric, recovered window valances and trim pieces around headboard (not hard at all ... use electric staple gun), purchased a coordinating comforter set and it completely updated the room.

P&GD, What is the floor's color and material?
We had a similar issue with our S&B home, the biggest difference we saw was changing the floor out from a darker Spanish tile to a light Maple planking. It made room much 'warmer', inviting, and it seems bigger now. I think it is mostly from more light from the floor level. (We kept all of the Cherry cabinets and the black finished appliances.)

As suggested I would think that a local upholsterer would do it for a whole lot less then getting the facotry involved. When going to change flooring, that might get a little more involved as many don't want to touch motorhomes but I'm sure even with a little research that could be done as well. There is a fellow that does it but I believe he is in Texas but just maybe he would interested in a road trip. Good luck would love to see some pics when and if you get it done.

I tried last year and the year before at the Tampa RV show to get a bid from classic coach for some interior work and never could get them to call me back. Ended up doing everything myself.

Newmar will probably do it. Don't waste time with sub's and after market. I had them change much of the interion after the fact, 4 years. They did the top shelf design and craftmanship. Exactly what we wanted, done, at the factory.

I love Newmar but they quoted me $14,700 to remove all of the original carpet and tile and replace with new like they are putting in the new ones. I decided to tear everything out myself and hired professionals to lay the new porcelain tile and carpet. Total cost $3,700 and it looks like a factory job. I know they do great work but I thought their bid was just a little crazy.

That $3700 is about the right price. 14 grand is a rip off

I talked to Bradd and Hall at the Tampa show about replacing the carpet with tile and putting MCD shade in my mh to update the look, they said it would take at least a week to do the work after they got the product in. My problem is I have an 05 and it is loosing value eveyday, I just have a hard time justifying spending that kind of money for a change when it add zero to the value of the coach. Of coures I don't fulltime, my attitude might be different if I fulltimed.

We replaced all the shades in ours with MCD shades. It's a 2000 Mountain Aire and you are absolutely right about it not adding to the value of the coach. It is however one of our favorite upgrades. Would not have a coach without them now.
