IOTA DLS-45 and IOTA IQ4

We own a 2012 Bay Star 2901.
I replaced the two stock 12V house batteries with two true 6V Deep Cycle Golf Cart batteries.

The motor home came from the factory with the DLS-45 installed and it appears to be working well.

We keep the Bay Star plugged in most of the time when it is stored.
So far, the batteries are holding up well, not requiring topping in over 3 months.

My question: Would adding the IQ4 to the current system be a good idea for even better battery management?

Thanks for any comments.

If the DLS-45 does not have one, it would be a very good idea to add. It turns the DLS into a fairly good 3 stage charger which will charge the batteries quickly when needed but not boil them with too high a float voltage when they are charged.

The golf cart batteries like to be charged at 14.4 to 14.6V or more, depending on the brand, and like to float at about 13.6V, without the IQ4 the DLS uses 13.8V which is a compromise.

I have both the 45 and the IQ and I am very pleased with their service.
I use them on 2 6V golf cart batteries. My batteries are going on 4 years now and still performing well. They have almost 20,000 miles of travel on them in that time.
Get the IQ and plug it in.

Some of the Iota chargers come with the IQ4 built in. If you do not have a plugin port simular to a telephone wall plug you may already have the built in IQ4. Also the model number may be somewhat different. Check before you buy the IQ4.
