We recently stayed at Amish Acres...It was ok for 1 night but the DW said never again mainly because a train goes through every hour blasting it's horn and is in desperate need to be renovated. Although the next time I'll stay at the factory..Plus, we are going back to pick up the coach on Friday 1 day trip 11 hour push for us both ways so that we don't need to stay there also the factory had my coach a little longer than anticipated but all the technicians have been great to work with..

AR'YES the train forgot about that never bothered us we were always to tired and we sleep right through, besides I always liked trains, can remember in Canada KOA right next to tracks, was that a surprise and a long freight train, kids thought it was a earth quake.

While motels are limited in number and quality, there are cities close by where you can find what you want. We stayed overnight in Nappanee. If we had it to do again we would probably still do the same.
Don't push them for time. They found additional repair items that I did not list and they took care of them but it took an extra day. Make a trip of it and enjoy the stay.
We found a couple of interesting restaurants within a half hour of the factory.
By the way, we took ours last January and it was five below. Saying in the motorhome was not an option.

Bay Star Sports and other Newmar Gas coaches do not have insulated wet bays. So they have to be winterized to survive -5F weather. That said, some people don't like staying in a coach without a working bathroom, even if the heat works fine, which it does, at least on our coach.

Last time we needed a hotel near Nappanee (we had tried some of the closer and cheaper ones and wouldn't do that again) we stayed at the Oakwood Resort in Syracuse. An absolutely beautiful place that is dog friendly and has a great restaurant. A bit pricier, but a good value for what you get.
Its about a half hour drive from the factory.

We had no lost of tech time. We drove our coach every morning, our self, over to the service garage & our tech knew to wait there as opposed to riding over to pick it up.
We were there at 5 minutes to 6:00 every mornong. Our coach was inside & being worked on by 6:10am. And at the end of the day, we drove it back. No time was lost. We even had breakfast in the coach a couple days in the service garage.
If anything, just by being with the coach at the service garage, more gets done & I could see what was being done.
Why go to a hotel when I am much more comfortable in my own bed.

LOL - been there done that....
But if Newmar does combine all service into one location -& that is what they are currently working on doing... One location they are considering is possibly having the Building 42 service garage enlarged. This is the service center located across town right next to the tracks by the Burger King. If they do go with that idea, then they are talking about Camp Newmar to relocate directly across the street in that one city block long field.
If you think you hear train horns now at the Amish Acres, go see what they sound like coming through that intersection - horns blowing 200' away in an open field LOL.
Let's hope this plan gets scrubbed.

I thought it was a prerequisite for campground construction to have a train nearby. Seems like every place we stay has a train going through at 2am.

All Newmars I have owned where capable of low temperatures and staying in them with temps below 5*, your wet bay which is fiberglass floor may need a insulated blanket but the furnace in mine would supply plenty of warmth for tanks and wet bay at low temps.
If your going to camp in low temps you just need to be prepared for them.
