Is the Refrigerator filter necessary?

I run two water filters on the water coming into my DS and we are not full timers. Would it be necessary to install the filter in the fridge? Not sure what will happen to it while sitting in between outings.

I think if you were to shut your refer down after each trip, like the propane type, the filter could get nasty if the water used in the coach was not chlorinated city water. Since you leave your refer on all the time, I don't see it being much different than your house refer.

I haven't looked at the refer filter, filtration numbers, but it might be better than what you're using as a whole coach filter.

The refrigerator filter does contain carbon, so in theory it will take out the chlorine and provide tasty water. They last six months in a full time setting. I have it on my schedule to replace every six months.

Everything was working fine, until it wasn't.
