Hi lolley,
Forget emailing HWH. Call them. They may need to call you back, but they are very good about returning a call. They can walk you through the process of getting the jack piston raised.
Look carefully at the springs. At each end of the spring (just before the hook) is the spring tapered or straight? If they are straight, they need to be replaced. While on the call with HWH, you could confirm this and order new springs. Have your instruction book and model number handy when they call.
To install new springs, there are a number of threads on this subject. Basically go to Lowe's and get a bunch of paint stirring sticks. Cut the stick into 2" lengths. With the spring in a vise, insert the paint sticks into the spring spiral. About 20 should do it. The objective is to make one spring long enough to allow you to slip it through the connection hole in the pad. The spring on the other side of the pad should have gone on first. There is no need for paint stick spacers on the first spring.
a k is correct, you'll need to get under the piston and "help" it to retract. This can be made easier if you allow the fluid to return to the reservoir by opening the valve for that jack. You'll need to find the reservoir. The valves, pump and other components are located around the reservoir. On my coach, the HWH components are located in the front of the coach on the passenger side.
