I have a 2008 Dutch Star MH 4320,with a Jensen in dash stereo.Do they normally come with a remote control? The quick guide to operations shows it,but I didn't get one when I bought the MH(used)? The dealer is saying they don't?
Thanks Bruce H.

The remote for the VR182 in-dash stereo is an option. You can get either a steering wheel mount remote or a credit card type. I bought mine here:RVCams Backup Cameras and Rear View Systems: JENSEN 1.8-DIN AM/FM/CD/WB Sirius Satellite & iPod® Ready Stereo

Bruexx - Glad I could help! I went thru the same thing when I got my coach this summer so I had the answer fresh in my memory.

Welcome to the Newmar forum - I'm sure you will find a wealth of info here as I have. Good travels!

I called the 800 number from the Jensen paper work that came with our motor home and bought one direct from them. Our radio dash location slants towards the driver so the credit card sized remote, which would ordinarily be used by the navigator is usless. If your's is the same, get the wheel mounted one and do not waste your money on the credit sized one.

I was going to get both, the portable one for my wife to be able to tune the radio etc.as we travel, without having to undo her seatbelt+ get up to make a change+ the steering wheel mounted one for me for while I am driving, but I am not so sure that I have the room on the steering wheel to do so.My stereo is mounted mid dash+ points directly to the back of the coach,so there shouldn't be the problem of either remote not working?
Thanks to you both for your information.

Hope y'all don't mind if I jump in. I have a Jensen VR182 in my coach with the steering wheel remote and the credit card remote. Both work well. Radio is facing center. DW has to put credit card remote in left hand in in the isle a little to work. The steering wheel remote works real well for what it was designed for.

p.s., the steering wheel remot is strapped to the wheel with velcro and does not get in the way.

Interesting info but this thread is about "remote controls".

I bought the credit card remote for my radio and it works fine from most angles. Since I can reach the controls easily on the dash, didn't need the strg. wheel version - had it on my last coach and took it off because it was in my way. Guess, like most things, it's a matter of personal preference.

DandS. Sorry for the confusion in my previous post. I used the DPL 2500 RTL as an example of the difference in pricing betweent the 2 suppliers. The supplier that you suggested charges $119. for the same item that JensenRVdirect charges $49.99, and that is the DPL2500RTL Sirius reciever. It struck me when I checked the web site you suggested and I just recieved the reciever for $49.99. I thought it might be beneficial for the OP to have options.

Goodturn - No problem with your suggestion, however the web site you recommended doesn't even list remotes so guess it's a moot point.

Bruexx: I should have done a little moe research before my original post. JensenRVdirect does in fact not stock the remote, however, they recommended ASAElectronics who offers the REMVRCC for $9.99. This does not come up on their web site, but their 1-800-688-3135 ex 523 customer service is excellent. As I mentioned before, it's beneficial to have alternative sources. I have ordered from ASA with excellent results.
