Thanks for all the good suggestions. Tuesday we went back to Dealer and they stood firm on their price, even after we told them we didn't have a trade. However, for some reason regarding Diesels, they got a nearly 3% additional off the price by providing us with a Colorado state tax exemption. This puts the price at nearly 26% off and we would prefer to buy local--22 miles from home. Better service and maintenance close by. And, it's the only 40' Newmar in the state. Quite honestly, we feel quite lucky to have found one that we love.

We also called a nearby Lazydays and they are outright buying our '16 Thor Challenger for $10,000 more than Newmar dealer (Transwest) on Monday. We have to take our Challenger in Monday morning just for them to do a cursory inspection and we will sign the sale docs after that. No issues that we are aware of, so hopefully that part goes smoothly.

So...next Tuesday, we close on our new Glamper, a beautiful Ventana 4037 with all the options you all have recommended. It's pretty loaded and I will post a pic when we finally get her/him?

Hubby is retiring May 3rd and we are leaving on a 2 1/2 week trip down to Key West where our daughter is getting married. So excited to soon be a part of this group. Happy Days to all.

Well, a hearty welcome to the Newmar DP family. You will enjoy your new Ventana. As for the 3% Colorado diesel finagle, it sounds to me like a way for the dealer to give you an additional 3% off of their final price. What you soon learn in the RV purchase arena is that, as a buyer, it doesn't matter how you get to YOUR bottom line; it only matters that you get there.

And, good for you in negotiating a better price for your current coach instead of trading it in. Every dollar counts.

Now, be prepared for the high-pressure sales campaign for everything from undercoating to service contracts. Purchase only what you really want.

Good luck.

Congrats! Hope everything goes good with Lazy Days buying the trade.

A lot can be said for having your purchasing dealer close by that first year. We were camped just one exit from North Trail RV from November until a couple days ago. We only needed two appointments for minor stuff but it certainly was convenient and they were really good to us.

The best part of owning my coach is travel days. I always look forward to "letting the big dog eat" and can't wait to drive it!!!!!

We bought our Bay Star from Bob Johansen at the Transwest dealer in Colorado Springs. It was a 2016 and we purchased it in August of 2017. Couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience. MSRP was about $124k and we paid $75k for it. We didn’t have a trade though. Flew out their from VA and drove it back.
