Jitters here! Night before buying Ventana 4037...?

We dealt on an instock 2018 Ventana 4037 today with dealer getting the upper hand in bottomline discount of 23% off MSRP $359,200. Disappointed they weren't willing to go more, but maybe tomorrow? What have others experienced on Ventanas?

Any words of wisdom on the price or must haves or have nots for this motorhome? Thanks for your input.

No experience with that coach... BUT!!!
Go over it with a fine toothed comb...TWICE!
MAKE the Sales person retract all the slides..You NEED to know what the limitations for usage are when You cannot extend the slides for boondocking..ie: what is blocked..(Galley/fridge/bathroom/bedroom/passageway?)

Go fuel it up during your test drive....Including filling with DEF...(Have the salesman with you to give pointers)
Fill up the fresh water tank, and use that 12v water pump
Then dry camp overnight at the Dealer.. RUN the generator (take bedding, change of clothes/take your showers.. (if it has a W/D, run a load thru),Fire off the TV,Get the fridge going, Take something for dinner & for breakfast (USE that Galley!)... and in the morning GO OVER IT AGAIN!!!
Make sure it has at least 2 A/C units,(Can you get a 3rd A/C unit??)
( and if you can.. an Aqua-Hot or Oasis heat/hot water system.
If it does not have a EMS protector system... have them put in a Progressive Industries 50amp EMS!
(not just a surge protector)

DO NOT GO CHEEPSKATE ON THIS!!! (even if you have to pay extra for it..!)
Find as many "bugs" as you can before you leave the Stealership! and have them address them to your satisfaction....BEFORE you leave.

Happy Trails!

My guess is that since the '19s are not yet on the dealer's lot, they're holding the line on price right now. As soon as the '19s arrive, I think you might see a bit more willingness to deal on an '18.

Unless you absolutely MUST have a coach tomorrow, I'd be inclined to wait the dealer out just a bit. The '19s will be here soon. And, I would certainly get the options you want rather than settling for something less.

The options I'd be looking t would include upgrading the 13.5M heat pumps to the 15M, or even better, 3 15M units. Makes a considerable difference on a hot day. I'd also opt for the 2000W inverter with two extra batteries, and the Energy Management System.

Since you are in Colorado, are you dealing with Transwest?

We love our 2017 Ventana, make sure it has 15000 BTU AC's and the polar pac insulation. If it doesn'y have these 2 items this would be a deal breaker for me. Ours is all electric and love the Oasis. Love the comfort drive. Good luck. Bill

I think your leaving 4% to 5% on the table $10k-$15k I would try North Trail my salesman was Matt Padilla super nice guy and well worth the call... I just checked there inventory and it looks like they have them in stock...

Thanks all for your suggestions! Yes, dealer is Transwest. We loved everything about it and it has the upgraded Polar Pak and a/cs.

You should get at least 26% off. After the 19’s are out, 1 - 2% more.

One factor on the pricing is whether you are trading in and how much they are giving on your trade. Some dealers give more for a trade, but reduce the discount on the new unit.

If you were outright purchasing, based on the pricing I've been getting to order a new unit, your discount is on the low side. I'm seeing discounts in the 26-29% range for a straight purchase (no trade in).

Now, I've been focused on ordering a unit rather than buying off the lot. I would assume that they would be more incentivised to move lot units, but can't say that for sure.

I traded with Independence RV last year and still got 26% off MSRP. Give Scott Hamilton a call.

We got 30% off our 2016 Ventana in Sept. of 16. Not sure dealer would have come off that much if not for an advertising screw up on their website. Keep in mind the 17’s were already out and they had two on their lot.

I agree with others in that I feel there is still some room for them to come off more. I think you will get them to 26 % tomorrow.

We bought our 17 at North Trail just before the 18's came out. We only got right at 20% off but then they gave us 10% over what high retail was on our trade. The value they ended up putting on our trade was almost $30,000 more than Lazy Days offered.

That's the point I was making about trading. If straight purchase, 26-29% or so, but if trading, you have to take it all in. If they gave you extra on your trade (which depending on the state could help with sales tax), then you aren't going to get a home run on your trade and 30% discount.

I've asked dealers to quote me a straight purchase and trade price, and that lets me know how much for the trade in and decide if I want the hassle trying to sell on my own.

I know my sister who recently checked with the deep discount Tiffin sellers, they didn't give anywhere near as much as Lazy Days, who were low 20% discount (going by memory), but gave them way more for their coach than anyone else.

I got 29.3% off at north trail without a trade-in on a 18 DSDP 4369 that we ordered... I sold my trade 12 CS 3920 outright and got 15K more then my best offer from a couple of different dealers...

So, janniemac...what's the end result of you continued negotiation? How did it go? Inquiring minds would like to know.
