Just received new fire extinguisher Recall yesterday

Call the number on the recall notice. One of ours wasn’t listed but was part of the recall. Ours was the E10 model. 2017 DSDP

E10H is on the recall list.

Enter it into the search after the name and address screen.

After trying to use the Kidde website...unsuccessfully...I called the phone number provided in the recall notice. Then, the fun began.

I was connected to a very nice lady and, just as we were getting started with the process, a recording kept coming on the line asking me for the last four digits of my Social Security Number. It covered up our conversation except for brief periods in the recording where it was waiting for me to provide my last-4-SSN. It would then repeat, telling me the process couldn't continue without my last-4-SSN. Not sure what it was all about and I never did provide that information.

We persevered and eventually got the recall confirmed, but it was a very frustrating experience on both ends of the call. Botton line is that a new fire extinguisher will be shipped to me via FedEx "within the next 15-20 days." We'll see.

I processed my two fire extinguishers today via the internet.

Edit: Oops one of them was done wrong. I processed a E110 White instead of a E10 Red for my Ventana.

You said you replaced TWO fire extinguishers. I replaced one - the one just inside the door. Where is your other one?

I have a 7-8 pounder that I keep in one of the exterior compartment. I have had this for years.

Submitted my recall by Internet 3/2 and got the new one 3/10. Packed up old one and was picked up 3/13.

I did not receive any notifications at all.

I knew it was processed when the new one arrived.

I had the red E10H in my coach replaced and an older white one from the house also replaced. I think it had an 08 date on it. Received new ones within a week and returned the old ones via Fed-Ex. Only visual difference between the old and new ones was the operating handles. If you are in doubt about a Kidde extinguisher you have, either in the coach or anywhere else, get on the phone with them. They are quite helpful and this is not something you should wait until you actually need to figure out if it actually works.

I think the original conversation with them (mfg date wasn't working at first) said I'd receive the new one in 15-17 days but it came sooner. Only knew it when the FedEx driver knocked on the door as he left the package.
When i called to arrange for the old one to be picked up I was told it would be the next day between 8 and 5 PM. I was gone most of that day so just left it outside by the door. When i got home later that afternoon the package was gone, hope it was FedEx that got it.

I got the replacement for the Newmar furnished extinguisher yesterday. The only difference is the color. It fit in the same spot the red one came out of. There were processed on 3/13/18.

I believe the E10s are on the Canadian recall list.
Presented a problem for me US didn't recognize it as included. Canadian website wouldn't ship to US address.
I had to call Kidde cust service and explain to them to get it handled.

Is anypne getting the smaller size replacements that will fit in the same space or are they all larger size w different mount and larger space required?
