Anyone have any idea how the original entry pad is attached? Looks like it is siliconed on. Mines dead and I need to remove it. I know the new one has screws. It's an '06 Essex.

This link has information on older unit also maybe answer is in there.
They may have used silicon into the cutout opening without screws and water is getting behind unit.

It has 2 rivets 1 on each end. Gently pry up the plastic cover enough to get to the rivert and drill them out.

Just went out and pulled decal. Two rivets. I'd better just order up new one and leave this one in place until new arrives. Anyone actually use the keyfobs to lock and unlock or just the key pad?

$550 plus shipping from Newmar. OUCH. Didn't some other threads talk about Newmars pricing?

Unless you are under the Newmar warranty and a dealer/factory is doing the labor, don't deal with them on this item. Essex has a great 3 year warranty. On the side or back of the keypad is the mfg date. This is what Essex goes by for their warranty. When you talk to them have the mfg date handy.

The keyfob works great. Just remember if you have the alarm it arms the alarm and the only way to disarm is the keyfob. The keypad does not arm/disarm the alarm. I think the keypad is a addon for the alarm that Newmar added. In the Essex doc it says 555 to lock doors and 559 to lock and arm alarm. That feature has not worked on our last to Essex's.

Why not call Keyless and see if they have dealers near you to replace or maybe they will deal with you as good will.

I have a warranty on the coach. I can replace it for $179 but they won't reimburse me. I can take it and get it fixed for 6-700 dollars and they will pay it. I just pay $100 deductible. Does that make sense?

Just ordered new Essex key pad from A1 Electronics in CA. If you have the keyfob from the old keypad they will work on the new one PT # KE1701RH

I would HIGHLY recommend the larger keypad from Essex....the small one is full of problems and not designed for Newmar's applications...you will need to slightly enlarge the hole in the siding, but it's not a big deal...and the dozen wires match perfectly...
