Kitchen Slide Proximity Switch Location?

I'm currently having a problem with my auto slide locks on my kitchen (curb side) slide not working when the slide is retracted. Slide comes 100% of the way in, but slide locks don't do a thing.

I've verified on the slide controller, that the center LED is not coming on, which means it's not getting the "slide is closed" signal from the slide proximity sensor (magnetic, I believe).

According to Newmar's slide out troubleshooting guide, I need to check the sensor to make sure it's gap is less than 3/16".

The question I have is where is this sensor located on the kitchen slide? This slide is not like the other 3 that have exposed parts in the basement. The only guess I have is that it is located under the kitchen and/or couch but I'd like some guidence before tearing things apart.

Anyone have a clue where this sensor is located?

Thanks in advance.

Hi! I am not sure on the Dutch Star, but more then likely it is the same as other Newmar Coaches. In our case the switch is located in the bottom right cabinet door. In other words, the small cabinet down below, closest to the end of the slideout. The cabinet is not very deep, or wide. You have to take the back panel of that cabinet out. There should be aprox. 4 screws that you can see when you open the cabinet door. Behind that panel you will see the switch. They do go out of adjustment. You may just be able to give it a little push to fix it. I hope you have long arms. Let us know how you make out. Regards, Paul

Bingo! This was spot on, and the sensor just needed a little adjustment to get things back to normal.

Thanks Paul.
