I have a 2004 DSDP. The last information I have read, stated that the FSD model Koni will not work on the IFS front end.
If you look up their web site, they recommend the FSD for the rear axle and another model Koni, for the front axle on the Spartan MM chassis, if that is what you have.
Why are you thinking about changing shocks?
I have done a lot of research on what I can do to improve the ride, of the front axle, when on bad road surfaces.
The first thing I did was go from 275/70R22.5 to 275/80R22.5 tires. This improved the ride comfort, but not as much as I had hoped for. I then called up Spartan and Bilstein. The consensus from them was that I had too little amount of weight, on my front axle. The axle is tagged at 13,700. Newmar rates it as 13,200. I have weighed all 4 corners of my MH each year and I never have more then 6,000 on either front tire. I also have had my road height checked and reset. Bilstein suggested I go down one load rating on the front shocks. They are the ones rated up to 13,000. The shocks that came on the chassis are rated for 13,000 to 14,000.
The last problem that I can't do much about is the air bags on the chassis are designed to have more weight on the front axle to operate at peak efficiency. If I could some how transfer another 1,000 lbs over the front axle my ride would improve that much more, but there isn't anyway that I know of to do this.
