Skippers 1 welcome to the Newmar forum.
Once you find out what type chassis you have you can use this site to match up you years chassis.
You may fine that 99-03 may use the same set of shocks.
Enjoy the forum and do post often.

Last time I checked Koni didn't make an FSD model shock for the front axle, that fit the Spartan chassis with IFS.

Spartan does offer a Koni replacement service for the IFS. The Koni's are NOT a direct bolt in (hence Koni doesn't exactly list them as a clean replacement) and requires some grinding and fabricating of the lower mounts to fit. However, if you are still in the 3yr 50,000 mile Spartan warranty, Spartan will install the Koni's for just the shock price ($200 ea) and cover the labor on warranty. Apparently, the Koni's offer significant acoustical reduction to the loudness of the IFS on rough roads. Yes, the IFS makes a rough road seem (sound) like a loose load of lumber. You must complain of road noise to get the warranty labor service.

Talk nice to Spartan and they will cover the shocks and labor if you are still under warranty.

Got my Koni's for free!

Do the Koni shocks help with the bang one hears when going across road to bridge joints? I have started slowing below highway speed when I see one coming. My Bilsteins appear to be intact with no leaks. We have a 08 KSDP.
Thanks, Jack

We have a 2004 DSDP Model 4011. Recently took the coach to Spartan for service and upgrades (October 12,). Requested Chris McCord Service Manager for Spartan to install Koni's on the Coach while we were having the service/tire upgrades. Spartan would not provide or install the Koni's.
In discussion with Chris, he advised they only had the Bil's for our coach, but with only 28K there was no need to replace them.

Spartan did a Excellent job servicing the coach, great people there. Can anyone recomend a service facility that would be willing to perform?. With the modifications required to mount the fronts, its not something I would try to perform myself.

Thanks

Jim Elliott

Tuthill makers of my front suspension, IFS 1260, stated that there is a Koni shock that was used by Country Coach for their Tribute model when they did not want to use Bilsteins. The crossover #'s for the BE5-2564 Bilsteins should work which Koni verified. I don't have the #'s in front of me. Research continues. Jack

The Koni #'s for the IFS 1260 are 90-2815 front and 8805-1009 rear to replace the bilsteins.

Thanks, Jack
Are they a direct replacement without any changes to the mounting brackets ??

I'm going to have to defer to someone with more knowledge about the amount of work needed. Maybe there is someone with a documented install with pictures in the forum.
No one in town here ( Boise ) has done the switch.
