Finished the install of the Flat screen LCD!!
I fabricated a slide and framework out of aluminum. So as to be able to move TV in and out to hook up cables and to Lock into position.
I then made a picture frame of maple and stained to match to finish off.

Fitting the Frame

The Slide locks in position with two allen screws up from the bottom thru cabinet and into the slide. Theses are capped with a black plug that you do not see unless you look directly from below.

Hi Rick, You have done a very fine job with the TV upgrade. It helps to be in the welding business. You should sell the slide!
BTW,I'm now in Florida, drove 1400 miles with no rattle or squeeks or chirping birds that I had inside the old SONY WEGA flatscreen tube TV.

Hi All

The welding was done by a Buddy in his Shop. I would 'REALLY' like his set-up at my place!!!

Siggy I am hoping for the same No shakes, rattles and squeeaks.

Max it is a Sharp 32"

Hi Joe How are Ya?????

The TV is a Sharp Aquos 32" Dimensions (WxHxD) 30 9/16 x 20 9/16 x 3 5/8.

The right door no problem.

The Left door I moved the Door to the Left, on the hinges about 3/8", as much as possible wiyhout seeing opening!!!

You also will need to relocate opener/closer.

I could not find any Cherry So I got some Maple and played with the Stain!!!

Rick, Nice job. You know you now have a better than factory installation. When I installed my flat screen the dealer said the key to a long life for a flat screen is ventilation. I set mine up for "flow thru" venting.
It's going to be interesting to see how long some of these new units last with them mounted tight against a wall and all sides closed.

Here it is August 2010 and I am looking at your LCD installation with questions. I have a 2004 MountainAire Gas which I believe is similiar to your rig. Have you had any request to sell the mounting/slide hardware that you designed. Have there been other enhancements since the original installation?
I notice in the picture that it appears that you have a full front window blackout shade. Is this something that you installed after the fact?

Welcome benge1 to the Newmar forum and irv2.
Congrats on your Newmar.
Some MA TV housings didn't have the complete wood box surround as the KS did they had plastic sidewalls. If you have bottom of wood you maybe ok.
You can look in the Quick Tips link for other options also by Newmar members.
Enjoy the forums.

Looks great ! I have 05 KSDP 3908 and wonder if you considered trying to reduce the size of the cabinet. I have banged my head a couple of times and wife the same. I want to go to Newmar in October on way south and was planning to ask them if alteration could be made to reduce size of cabinet. Are we the only dopes who can't
seem to avoid the occasional head bump. george
