L Lounge & Fireplace - Do You Like Them?

We are looking at a few Newmar 43' DSDP floor plans that might come with the L lounge and fireplace up front. The 4369 is a good example.

If you have/had one, what did you think? Was the lounge comfortable and easy to collapse for travel?

Thanks!

Maybe no comparison, but had that in a Tiffin. Ambience was great but comfort was horrible. 2 recliners in our 4369 is so much better. You forget about the fireplace quickly.

We love ours, it is real easy to set up only takes a minute or so. It's nice because you don't always have to have it out. Ours is very comfortable and gives you the ability to stretch out, and more than enough room for multiple people. The fireplace also works great, sitting watching TV it looks like a real fire and puts out plenty of heat if you want it to, or you can have the fire on with no heat. I'm not that big of a fan of recliners so the L-shaped couch works better for us.

Setup isn't a problem. Our L sofa was fine for one person to lounge on. 2, horrible unless you enjoy sitting on a chair with a vertical hard back. The part that pulled out was horrible. Fireplace nice, but you get over it very fast once you have a better layout and comfort

We have a Canyon Star with a 100 inch couch, so our experience is much different than what you would have in a Dutch Star with the 74 inch couch. We love ours. We have plenty of room for both of us to lounge and read or watch TV. I doubt we would have the same opinion on the shorter couch. The corner and L are not as comfortable.

Don't have the L couch but looked at a few Tiffin REDs that had them
Didn't like it - can't use that position unless you pull it out
Pulling it out blocked use of the reclining driver seat
Comfort ??? didn't use it but reports not great

We tried to get the dealer to do some swapping but they refused - don't get it they claimed "everyone is looking for a L couch" but would not swap it for a straight couch to make a sale.

We ultimately moved on and found a Newmar Vantana w/ 2 recliners - perfect for our needs

We don’t have an L Lounge, so can’t say. We do have a fireplace and really wouldn’t have an RV without one. Using it for heat, or just ambiance, we love it.

I have a 2018 DS 4369. No L Lounge though...I heard they were pretty uncomfortable. I didn't think they were putting them in the 4369's. I have couch, 1 recliner and fireplace. I really like it.

We had L couch and it was so uncomfortable we took it out and replaced it with a three unit electric reclining theater seating, MUCH better and more comfortable. All JMHO

Don-
Helen and I have the 43' DSDP with the L lounge extension...in fact our model is featured in the 2014 Dutch Star brochure. We find the L lounge extension to be extremely uncomfortable. The seat cushion on extension is very hard; it does not match the comfort level of the other seat cushions of the main part of the sofa. In terms of set-up/break down, it is easy. We are just very unhappy with the comfort level.

Had a CS with fireplace, loved it. Also had the L sofa, looked good, horrible to sit or lay on, the corner that the small section retracts in is like piece of plywood with a cover on it. Make sure to try and sit in the corner and try laying down.

We have a 2014 Ventana 4036. The living room area with L couch, fireplace and hiding TV is just right for us. We wouldn’t change a thing.

We don't have a J-lounge but we have a fireplace & love it. Our FP gets used frequently, it is quiet & nice to look at. The FP combined with heated floors practically eliminate using the noisy heat pumps.
