Lanyards on my '15 DSDP to maintain?
Perhaps this will be helpful for some other few, as well. I've had lanyards to pull to empty my air tanks of moisture in previous coaches...but, to be honest, and since I've yet to venture under the front of my '15 Dutch Star, I don't know for a fact whether that's a chore I must continue. Before posting, I researched some...perhaps not enough. Anyhow, the question is: do I have lanyards on this coach that I must periodically pull to drain the moisture? Thanks, for any/all responses.

Freightliner told me every six months as a minimum. It more or less confirms your air dryer is working properly.

The class is about to begin: I'm sitting in the front row eager and ready to learn.

Yes you have them. They are located in the front wheel wells and protrude through the frame rails. It's a small stranded cable with a loop on it. With big tires they are hard to see. Reach in with your awning rod to hook and pull for 5-8 seconds.

Attached is a photo from FCCC shown at Camp Freightliner. Look generally behind your front wheels for a wire loop coming through the frame rails-- and on both sides of the coach. Attach an awning hook and give the lanyards a gentle pull and you will release any moisture along with a blast of air.

I'm also in the front row of the classroom. I have a '15 Ventana. I don't recall getting an awning rod. I just push a button and the awning goes out (or in). Do they even ship coaches with awning rods anymore?
That said, thanks for the picture and the lesson. I will have to get/make a device to pull the pull the lanyard.

Here it is on the coach. It's a hard pic to take but if you look just to the left of the red hose you can just see it. This is the drivers side. Passenger side is in aprox same location.

If you have awnings on the drivers side, there is a rod to pull them down.

Thanks for the info but I have a question. Should this procedure be done at a specific stage, bags up or down, engine off or on, etc. Thanks again

Found this on another post
"At CampFreightliner the instructor suggested that you start the engine and air up only to the point the buzzer stops... around 60 psi or so. Then turn off the engine and pull the lanyards.
The idea is that at full pressure the air stream "parts the Red Sea" and you don't get as effective draining as you do with the air at a lower pressure.
I use my awning hook to pull my lanyards... doesn't take much of a pull at all and easy to hear the air escaping."

Rods are for the window shades, not the big awnings.

See, now I think of window shades as those that we pull down on the inside.
