What's even funnier is that Tiffin dropped their three year several years ago and currently only offers a one year warranty.
I just got off the phone with Tiffin in Red Bay as I found this on another web site and wanted to confirm what I read....

Newmar must not be so bad after all...

The "other" Jeff here.. I am a tad confused as to *exactly* what we are discussing here..

JR are you suggesting that "market POSITION" (I assume as defined by unit volume) is an indicator of corporate health/longevity? If so I would respectfully disagree.

Or, are you suggesting that loss of position (not in top 10 of sales) leads to loss of margin (warranty reduction) leads to loss of revenue (??) leads to out of business? In which case I would assert that "loss of position" is so early stage in such a doomsday sequence that it is impossible to crystal ball the future path of Newmar.

Hi! I thought the topic was Large Newmar Dealers? Was the idea that BKH and others had, were to make a list of Large Dealers to possibly try ordering product from? If so how about staying on that? Maybe Jeff or someone else would like to start a topic on, how long will Newmar stay in business?? Or something like that?? Paul

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but the fact that
Newmar has lost its large dealers in California IS
on topic, IMO. Once there is '08 product at La Mesa, then Newmar will once again have a large dealer in California, although I don't know how
many La Mesa stores will actually carry Newmar.

Loss of revenue puts pressure on all areas of a business. Nothing wrong with being a small builder, like Travel Supreme, but the key differences would be TS doesn't offer 11 motorized models and have a workforce anywhere
near 900 employees. I should think Newmar will have to do some fairly serious workforce reduction given the direction market share has gone.

I agree with Bob that Newmar is one of the better ones. The people that I know who have
toured to the Tiffin factory cannot figure out
how such nice looking motorhomes can emerge from
such chaos.

I for one want nothing more than for Newmar to
remain healthy and continue to do what they're
best at--building solid, quality coaches and
back them up at a level that brought them a
very good reputation throughout the industry
and with RVers.

OK guys....I've been as guilty as anyone here by discussing Newmar's issues and not the larger class A dealers....If we need to venture into another topic for "business practices and lost revenues" then someone can start it...

Let's get this one aimed back at dealer names and so forth...

Hi! This was BKH original post. How about we help him with a list. paul

Ahh.. Back on topic!

Howard RV Center in Wilmington, NC is not a mega dealer, but always has a dozen on so MADP and up models on site and many other Newmars. http://www.hrvc.com/

Tom Johnson in Marion & Concord NC is a mega type dealer of many brands but I don't know their Newmar specific size. http://www.tomjohnsoncamping.com/

Just as long as you don't need parts...
Seriously, I'd have to tread on Howard turf very lightly with all the changes going on there....
Too many other more established choices in the south and east for my bacon....
