Thanks for previous input on waxing the MH. I'm in process, it's looking great. I have Diamond Shield on the front and door of the coach. Should I just apply the wax over this, just like the rest of the coach?
thanks

I had always used the Aerospace 303 mentioned in the product care section of the website for Diamondshield. This was recommended by the company and I can report that it has kept my film in top shape.

Reading further, it states it still needs to be waxed, something I have not always done as I thought the 303 would suffice per company literature. Now I am half way confused. (as usual!)

A great product to use on the diamond shield is Plexus. I use that on the headlights and interior plastics as well.

I also put several coats of Zaino (which can be layered) on the front cap - bugs just slide right off.

I rinse with water, gently wipe off grime, bugs, etc and use Meguiar's Detailer or Nxt Generation Wax. The finish is excellent

Yep, the NxT wax is about the easiest on and easiest off wax there is and it lasts over a year in direct sun. I do 45ft of full paint camper in some 2-3 hours using 6-8 microfiber rags and all by hand. Get it at most big box stores (Target, Meijers, etc) or auto stores.

Wiil this Next Generation wax discolor the black matte plastic ( as in leave a white residue, etc.) on the non-painted surfaces?

Meguiar's Direct NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0 (Sold at Wal*Mart $15.00)

I usually keep white residue leftover type waxes away from black matte plastic surfaces for just that reason. The wax left a very nice appearance on Gel-Coat, Diamond Shield, regular painted surfaces and Chrome surfaces. I use it on all three vehicles: Honda CR-V, F350 and the MH.

I also use the micro-fiber towels for wax residue removal. Works great. Some use an Orbital Buffer (Might try that next time), but I just use the rags.

In-between waxing, use Meguiar's Quick Detailer to keep vehicle looking nice. I even use detailer after a couple days and it add an extra kick to the shine and smooths out the surface.

Here's something else... Hmmm,,, A bit much for a 45' MH, but have you tried Meguiar's Clay Bar System? I used in the the hood of the Honda CR-V and saw excellent results. You need to keep the suface wet with Meguiar's Detailer and wipe the piece of clay over the wet surface. Afterwards, apply wax, etc.

OK, while we are here, let's talk a second about using Carnuba wax. Carnuba wax 20 years ago was great, but even then it was short lived especcially in high UV hot climates since it would melt away quickly. When you see a can that may say: 100% Carnuba, that doesn't mean the whole can is 100% Carnuba. It means the small amount of Carnuba in the can is 100% pure. The rest of the can is something else, often bees wax.

Meguiar's NxT Wax is a good general purpose wax. There are waxes online that can beat it, but you'll have to shop and order online. NxT is easy to get at most auto-parts, Target, Wal*Mart, etc.

I can not specifically answer your question from actual experience. I don't have any suitable (textured) matte black to try it on either. I (sloppily) apply NxT right over smooth black rubber and it comes right off. But.....

The NxT stuff doesn't "haze" over quite like the old paste waxes did. Nor does it dry up into a chalk like residue. It sort of just somewhat dries and dulls instead of hazes and does so in a few minutes. As such, manual removal is a cake walk and doesn't gunk up dozens of towels or require power tools (sigh). The inference is that messing up textured matte may be minimal!
