On our trip over Thanksgiving, we discovered our toilet was leaking. It seems to be leaking where the toilet is mounted to the floor. My husband wants to replace this toilet (which otherwise is perfectly fine) with a standard floor flush toilet. I'm for removing the toilet and seeing where the leak is and fixing it. He's also concerned about the electric part going out when we are dry camping and not being able to flush the toilet. Any suggestions.

Rubber ring on floor is only place it can leak. I replaced all my controls gaskets etc. Had to order from RV supply place. Toilet decided to flush when we where away for the day made real mess. Works fine now.Not big job to replace seal, all wires unplug, 2 bolts to take out, lift off opening, seal will stay on floor or toilet, remove put new one on set back down tighten bolts. the seal is rubber not same as type used in home [wax seal gasket] Toilet has manual wheel at back to use to flush if power is not available

There is a manual override for the flush on your toilet. It is the fluted knob on the rear of the toilet it's about 1 inch in diameter. Just turn it to flush and turn it to close. Look in your toilet manual for more details.

Here's the link to the manuals if you don't have yours.
