We are finishing up a 28 day trip. Two big leaps from Nashville to get home Thursday night. Shutters Friday. Picking up supplies in Tennessee on the way back. I have a a good place that I store the rig. No worries there. Loved through Andrew and Wilma. 6 miles inland from the Gulf. No surge worries.

Is anyone headed west on I-10 toward Ms? How's the traffic?
Still keeping options open to travel north, west or stay home if the track forecast continues to move east.

After reading all the post on safety, what ifs insurance on rv if you can and don't leave i made the decision to get out of town. RV is out of storage, home and all thats needed is food and DW clothes. May leave tonight.

Will be heading north & west somewhere out of Florida very soon.

Classic Coach Works

We were just about ready to go with just a few food and medical items to load and i was looking at google maps trying to get my escape route. Not that many options other than going waaaay far north and west.

Then it dawned on me at 3pm to give Classic Coach Works in Ormond a call to see if they were taking short term storage. I knew them as i had some upholstery work done not long ago. They weren't but would accomodate me. They were closing at 5 till after the storm so i said i'd be there ASAP and would be close to 5. Frank said he would wait for me. I was there in time, coach is safe inside, i'm relaxing a little bit less knowing the MH is safe.

Under any other conditions we would have left and traveled but DW is going thru chemo and not having an easy go of it with sever mouth sores. Her next round is scheldued for Wednesday.

Our home is sturdy and secure,..... bring it on Irma.

Thank you Classic Coach Works.

We drove that yesterday morning and there was a lot of traffic heading West. The rest areas was full and there was cops everywhere. Power utility truck and tree cutting truck convoys were heading East.

We left Key Largo Tuesday night and headed for SC.It took us two extra hours to get there, but it was expected. Now it's a sit and wait situation.

Good luck to everyone getting out and safe travels. Not only is it smart for you to leave, but it also may save emergency workers from having to try and save you later, risking even more lives.
