LED Strip on top of passenger side slide

Has anyone put a LED strip for patio lighting on the top their slide for patio lighting? If so where did you get your power source from? Where do you mount the IR controller sensor?

On my Ventana the slide is the living room/kitchen slide and would like to put a LED strip at the top of the slide just below the slide topper cover.

The only lights I have now are the security and door light that get pretty much blocked when the slide is out.

I've been considering doing the same thing. On my coach this would be on the Kitchen/living room slide out. The slide out has cabinets on the ceiling. I am thinking I will power it by tapping into the overhead puck lights in those cabinets.

I think I am just going to put a switch in the cabinet nearest the door and forget purchasing a kit with the IR sensor entirely. This will also make the purchase cheaper by allowing me to get a roll of LED lighting.

White lights is what I want anyway so I will use the left over LED strip lights to convert some of my florescent coach ceiling fixtures.

I pulled power for an LED strip under the kitchen slide from the outside TV cabinet.
Works well for lighting the "patio" area in dark campsites

Looks nice. Are the LED's in the awning or attached to the slide?

On my previous Tiffin I installed some LED strip lights under my awning and connected the power to the scare-light. On the Ventana the scare-lights are not on the slide. I now need to figure out my options.

They are the same place on mine, at the 1/2 bath and next to the front door

On our Bay Star, I attached the LED strip to the awning rail. I realized that where the rear awning arm was located was right over the bathroom (medicine cabinet). in a adjacent cabinet was one of the 12V fuse blocks. I got the power from there and instead of using an IR controller, I went with an RF controller. You do not have to have line of sight for it to work.

Installed an LED strip light on the front passenger slide on the topper cover. I ran the power cord down behind the edge of the slid then across the bottom into the back storage compartment. I started to tie into the basement lights but changed my mind as would have to turn on basement lights in-order to use strip lights. I ran a new wire from the battery compartment over to where I put the switch inside the storage bay. I mounted the switch just inside on the side wall. Easy access even with the slide out

On our Canyon Star, all we have is the porch light, not even a scare light!!

I thought of, looked at, at almost did the LED strip in the awning.......

Problem being the awning is high off the ground, cannot be reached without a ladder - then there is the wind. IMHO, the awning is poor and the slightest breeze has it jumping up and down and I retract it........

I spoke, thru emails, to my friends up at Newmar (3 hours from my house) and they will be installing LED strips under my kitchen slide. Above pix looks great and is just what I an looking for.

Wish I was handy - but I am not.........

It gets installed early May.........if I remember, I'll post some pix - don't be afraid to remind me if you'd like.........LOL

I suggest you get LED's with an RF controller. You can mount it anywhere as you do not need line of sight. Just look at Amazon or Ebay for RF controller in your search

Stang can you take a couple of pictures? I plan on doing the same thing. I was thinking of drilling in to get power from the cabinet inside where the microwave is but I don't like drilling into the new MH yet.
