No! Not age! Legally operating an Ontario resident owned 45' coach. The Ontario law still only allows up to 41' and requires a permit for over length. The permits were not really available, to my knowledge, when I bought my rig. I did, howver read they were available through the MOT in St. Catharines, Ont. which I read in a recent MH magazine. I applied on-line and paid my $50 on the Thursday past. I received my permit the following day by courier. The MOT people are great!

Cool, I'm legally 45.

Peter

May I ask what the $50 is for???? Does they restrict the number of vehicles on the road over 41 feet??? Is it for road improvement?? since all that weight of those big rigs must be tearing up the roads. : Just kidding. Isn't that what the license is for??

I don't do metric. I'm all gallons, miles, feet and the like. The 41' that is the legal non-permit length is a result of calulating a bunch of meters and a few left over centipedes. The $50 is just an admin fee until the law gets passed by the spring of '09, or so.

We're going to visit Toronto coming in to Ontario from Michigan in a week or so in our 45' MADP plus the tow car.

Do I need a permit?

Our wonderful Northern neighbors do practice reciprocity. If you are legal in your home State, you are legal up there. Nice folks up there too.

RVDude does not speak with forked tounge. He has it right. I believe all states and provinces accept what ever your home port says goes.

Lug - I am a tad perplexed so I'll try to gently shake and not stir. I realize as the Dr. of Mixology, phD you don't do metric, but I thought you did do jiggers? Tell me bro, have you replaced the jigger and even the fifth (not the Amendment fifth) with GALLONS? Holy Smokes! And yes, you can take the fifth (as in Amendment) if you please! Just phD'ing it (Piled Higher & Deeper)! Go Dr.!

"My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead, and that's the way I likes it!"

We use hogsbreath up here. While it is much cheaper than the head stuff it doesn't get 40 rod per burp, more like 25.
