On my new to me Mountain Aire DP my leveling jacks have quit working and I don't have a clue where to start to find the problem. They had been working but were very slow. Now they don't work at all. The control panel seems to be working ok but the jacks want go down. I also dont know where the pump or the other parts of the system are located on the coach. They are the HWH leveling jacks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi steedracer,
There could be many different reasons for the jacks not to work. Can you provide additional information by letting us know:
1. the model of HWH system you have
2. When you press buttons to level, are any noises made? Like the pump working. These would be similar to the noises you hear when the jack are working.
3. You'll need to find the pump and reservoir. They will be located together. They are in different locations depending if your coach is diesel or gas powered. Diesel powered coaches could be located in the front passenger side of the coach. Access is via the generator door.
4. If you can find the pump and reservoir (black) unscrew the reservoir cap. There will be a dip stick attached to it. If the jacks are fully retracted, take a reading of the fluid level, via the dip stick.
5. In the same area as the pump and reservoir, there may be a very large circuit board with a see through plastic cover. Please let us know if you find this circuit board. You may need to stick your hear into the area of the pump and look around. Newmar mounted these boards in some challenging locations.
Please let us know what the answers are to these questions.

The coach is a 1996 mountain aire diesel pusher 40'. I have searched every where for the Pump and can't find it The system is a HWH AP1079 and I think That the problem is with the pump. The onle noise that I hear is from the control box whe you press the buttons. No pump run noise. If i could find the pump I could at least check for power or loose connections.

Looking through this list I can not find your system.
I would try and follow a hydraulic hose from one of your front jacks and it should go to control valves mounted on fluid tank and motor should be attached to tank.
Once you find tank check fluid level should be between the lines on Bell Vent shaft.
Welcome to Newmar forum.

Hi steedracer,
If the panel has lights but there is no sound when trying to extend a jack, a bad component or ground are the two likely culprits. If the HWH components are not located where I mentioned in my earlier post, I can not help. Consider calling Newmar on Monday. Their customer service number is 800-731-8300.

the pump on my 1996 mountain aire is mounted up front toward the drivers side,, it has a reservoir and motor,, if the motor is not running when you move the levers, then check for power,, if the motor runs but will not operate the jacks check for oil in reservoir

I finally found the pump. It is located at the very back corner on the drivers side at the back bumper. It seem that I have a bad motor. The power is getting to the motor and if you tap on the moter it will run for a short time and then cut off. I will have to remove the bumper cover and check it when we get back home. Thanks for all the help.

Hi steedracer,
Double check the ground from the pump to the chassis. Congrats on finding the pump.

There maybe a release for bumper so the whole bumper pulls out with the spare tire. That maybe a gas coach.
The pump has a 10 amp fuse in a weather proof cap in power lead before connecting to motor.
As someone said check grounds also or mounting bolts for motor to tank or frame.
