We recently purchased a 2007 Mountain Aire. Couple of little things I need some help with.
1. The interior pot lights...... how do you get them out.

2. The drivers pull down night blind has lost its re-coil. I think one of the grand kids over pulled on it. As there is a side wooden valance there it is difficult to get at it. Is there a trick to getting the tension back into the coil mechanism.

Thanks

#1- Position the switch for the light in the middle point, all the way up is full on and all the way down is half power. As for # 2 maybe someone else has a answer.

Phil,
Grab the edges of the glass and rotate counter clockwise 1/4 turn. Then pull bulb straight out.
I think the shade works just like one you might see in a stick built house. Remove it and recoil the spring.
Thanks, Daryl

The shade is basically a window shade with a spring tension. If you have lost it and it is just hanging, you will need to remove the shade and rewind to re-tension. It isn't hard, with the exception that none of this stuff is easy to put up or take down and there is never quite enough room in which to work.

When removing the glass light covers a tip I got from a dealer service tech helps -- the glass tends to stick to the vinyl ceiling material. Before trying to rotate it to get it out, run a credit card between the glass and the ceiling all around the glass. It then unscrews easily.

So we got the light sorted out ..... thanks to all.

But the Blind........ we removed it and unfortunately the mechanism was actually broken. We took it to a local Blind store but they were not able to help. We have now sent an e-mail to Newmar Customer Service desk..... hopefully they can point us in the right direction, or send us a replacement.

Again Thanks........

Phil

Received an e-mail back from Customer Service with the tel number for the order desk. Called the parts department and ordered the blind......... they do not sell just the mechanism. But they had a blind in stock and is on route today. We live in NW Ontario and our nearest Newmar dealer is a long way away. so being able to order parts directly seems a great concept. The parts guy I spoke with this morning (Tom) was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Again thanks to all .... great.

Phil

a little late but still a hint..if the glass cover is cool to touch try wearing the blue surgical gloves you might use when dumping..they seem to grip glass better than fingers and tip number 2 never use your fingers on the bulb and if you do wipe the bulb clean as the oil on your fingers causes the bulbs to burn hotter and blow more more frequently
