I have a 2005 DSDP 4015 and when closing the livingroom slide I either have to push or pull on the slide in order for it to make it up the incline. If I do not push or pull the slide stops near the top of the incline. I do the close the slide while still plugged into shore power. Also, bottom rear of slide sticks out about 1/4"

G'morning Bob: Well...don't know if I can help, but for what it's worth....we just yesterday left Nappanee and while there the tech taught me about adjusting the slide travel amperage on the control box in order to increase or decrease the power applied to the motor and thus altering the force applied to driving the slide in (or out). Now, from your description, I'm not convinced this will solve your slide travel issue, as it sounds like it might have to do with travel screw rod adjustment OR something stuck beneath the slide preventing smooth and full travel, but...if ya know where your slide motor control boxes are..in our Essex there are two on each side mounted on the main chassis frame rail in the rear basement compartments. Ours our black and about 6" by 4" rectangular and mounted right next to ea. other. On the face of these boxes are a series of control buttons (located on a tiny panel about 1" x 5"), tiny white recessed dial, and 3 ea. vertically oriented tiny red bulbs (L.E.D.'s) sensor indicators. These little red bulbs are on the right hand end (side) of this control panel, but on the left hand end and a little recessed is a little, flat, white, (about the size of a small shirt button) dial which when turned with a flat bladed tiny screw driver can increase or (opposite turn) decrease the amperage feeding the slide motor and thus alter the power. ANY adjustment of this dial MUST BE VERY little at a time (maybe a 1/8th turn between trials). If this isn't clear, msg. back and I'll try to explain. Our psngr. side bdrm. slide didn't appear to fully close one time and we had tech check this. It was because of this he had occasion to explain this control to us. If ya have 4 slides, the box forward on the rail is for the forward slide on that side of the rig while the aft box is for the aft slide on that side of the rig. Same on the other side of the rig. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will jump in with a better solution, but, thought I'd try. Maybe, give Newmar a call. Good luck with the fix. Steve & Lynette

Bob:
I had the exact same problem with the same slide. What Steve said is right on. Just the slightest tweak of the white amperage dial did the trick. Six months later and still working great. Also make sure your slide rollers are okay. I had one that the bearings were bad in and leaving a grease stripe on the carpet. When it was pulled out the axle fell right out of it. I'm sure that creates quite a drag on the slide too. Good luck.

One more thought, I once had the slide motor bolts loosen up just the slightest bit and when the slide was activated it torqued the motor sideways just enough to jam the slide and stall the motor.

Bob,

I have the same motorhome as you - a 2005 DS 4015. My slideout control box is mounted on the wall under the kitchen sink. I have helped a couple of owners adjust the cut off current on that box to get their slides up the ramp.

Good luck.
