Hi Beacher,
You have an excellent question. It is a 40' coach with a tag, on a Freightliner chassis and a DEF engine. I have no idea where the batteries are located. Now you make me wish I had paid more attention to the DSDPs at the Tampa RV Super Show.

On our 2012 Dutch Star 3734 the house batteries are located on the drivers side on a roller shelf, in the compartment just behind the front axle, with the propane compartment being further aft. Ours has 6 six volt Interstate batteries. DEF is located in a compartment on the passenger side just forward of the chassis battery compartment.

Guess I can't help either as we were looking at the DSDP's, MADP's, Essex and King Airs back in September and I don't remember which was where!

GrayKD I wish I could figure this out to. I know the chassis battery's are at the rear on the curb side and on a all Ele unit the house battery's are in the LP compartment I just don't know where they put them when you have a unit with LP. Any thoughts on if the AC unit drains on the roof. I thought I read somewhere at the ACs drained down the inside of the rear cap.

As best I know, all Star coaches have the roof HVAC drain onto the room. When one gets into the Aire line, there is a hidden drain to below the coach. From what I've heard, the hidden drain is a PITA. For me, the draining onto the roof is okay. I keep the side gutter channels cleaned out.

Thanks GrayKD for the draining answer I went to my local dealer Beckleys Camping Center here in Maryland and they have a 43' Dutch Star there the LP and battery's are side by side. Newmar split the LP door and made it two doors one for the LP and one for the battery's they've reshaped the LP tank so it's not as long thanks for your help with my questions. I see you've got a Kourty Star to we've got a 2008 and love it would love to get a newer unit one day soon maybe a Dutch Star
