One of the few squwak's we had after our initial shakedown weekend was a baggage compartment lock that I could not get to lock. We locked and unlocked it at leat twice during the PDI. Looking at our keys, I had one compartment key that was double sided and one that was single sided. A quick call to Newmar revealed that there is no such thing as a single sided key, suggesting that maybe a part of the key was stuck in the lock. Newmar happily sent me a new lock core. With unseasonably warm weather today, I went to replace the lock core and decided to take a look inside the lock first. Sure enough, I found the other side of my key Take a look at the photo below and you can see the key, and the piece that broke off inside the lock. Took about 10 minutes to get the piece out and the lock works like it should.

Defective key? Cut to deep, or you were testing your strength? Seems strange on a new (2012) unit, key would break off like that.

That is strange, must be a bad key blank.
