We are exploring buying a motorhome directly from the owner. The 2001, 38', 2 slide Dutch Star has 50,000 miles. The asking price is about $100,000. Any general advice or specific concerns would be greatly appreciated. Cabindog

I have a 2001 3367 or a 34'er which we purchased in Jan. of 07 and have only put 5K on it since family health problems and so far we love. Our DutchStar is a gas job on ford frame which has had the Banks power pak up grade and it will pull any hill in the east without a problem. The quality is up front on these earlier Newmars with great cabinetry and and workmanship.I have all the power I want and still get in the 8.5- 9.5 MPG pulling a CR-V at 65 MPH.We love this coach!!!!
GOOD LUCK!!

We just purchased a 40 foot 2000 Dutch Star on a Freightliner chasis with 33K miles on a Cat engine and in excellant condition for 78 K. I'd look around some more, there are better deals out there IMPO. Good luck!

we purchased our 2001 Dutchstar about a year ago for 85k. It had 14K miles. It is a freightliner 300 cat, two slides. We love it, we've put on about 9K miles with no major problems. We're getting about 8.5 mpg towing a saturn. We are fulltimers and enjoying our adventures very much. I think you should be able to find areally good one for around 75K.
Good luck!

He's asking too much. We bought a 01
DSDP in March 2008 with 2 slides, 34m miles and in great condition. Paid a little under 75m in Florida.

It's a buyers market. Do some searches on net using Dutch Star, 2001, diesel pusher and see what you find. That's how we found our's. In Feburary there were several listed. Good luck.

Realistically you shouldn't pay much more than wholesale--low retail, however it's listed. If you can find the NADA yellow book--not internet price. The book is more realistic.
