Love my comfort drive

375 miles Sunday in gale force winds 40 plus with gust to 60. 765 miles today nice 12 hour drive not exhausted. Only problem is it took 13 because of accident on I 70 southwest of Indy. Got to check out brake system in a emergency situation. Must say they will stop you in a hurry. However the wife has a few house keeping chores because of it. Turned over her kuerig and slide a few decorations around on counter tops. Nothing damaged but they will stop rather quickly if the need arises.

My DH can testify to what a great thing comfort drive really is! Yesterday our alternator going out(currently working with Freightliner on that) but during our 400 mile trip in severe weather with 40-50 mph wind gusts, the comfort drive going on and off, more often off. When it was on he was not having to fight the steering in the least, but when it was off, I heard a few choice words and saw the tension in his shoulders and white of his knuckles! He said we will never own a coach without it! Thank you Ken Sherwin and Newmar for such a great product!

These people love their CD also especially in windy conditions.

Are longer coaches more stable in strong crosswinds? I drove mine 200 miles in very strong winds Saturday across New Mexico and the Comfort Drive definitely helped, but I still had to keep my mind on staying on the road the whole way.

kwilke859....We had a 36' Monaco before the Dutch Star and I had done quite a bit of suspension work to it, but in strong winds, it got pushed around. So....yes.....even with the Comfort Drive, your coach is really short.

Tag axle and comfort drive equals driving in 35 or 40 mph winds relaxed with one hand on the wheel. I will admit that on Sunday I had it turned up to 6. The wind then was sustained at 40 with gusts to 60.

We had brutal winds driving down #97 into USA from Canada last week. Comfort Drive made 7 hour drive very comfortable. Gotta love Newmar.
