Low Beams won't shut off.
Hello, I have a 2004 dsps 3810 I have owned it a little over a year, just recently the low beams have decided to stay on when I shut the lights off. I have to go out and pull the fuse for the headlights to get them to shut down.
I have tried everything I can think of, grounds look good. Shutting down the engine does no good, Can anyone help out with this or has anyone experienced the same problem. Most threads I read are about lights going out not staying on. Thanks oscarmike

Could be a defective daytime runing-light module, although on most vehicles, these modules connect to the high-beam circuit.

In the '80s I had an old coach in which the low beam contacts in the headlight switch melted together caused by aching/overheating.
Ordinary automobile push/pull automobile headlight switches are often used in RVs.
RVs have a lot more exertior lighting than automobiles and the switches sometimes overheat.
Replacing the light switch was the only answer.

If you have a "Smartwheel" steering wheel, your VIP controller module may have failed in the headlight circuit. Mine has failed in the closed circuit and the headlights would not shut off. It is the J12 plug on the control module.

low beams won't shut out
Thanks to all who responded, I will check the j-12 circut and see if that is the culprit, I also was thinking about the head light switch itself, but thats a pain
have to tear so much out to get it out of the dash. Thanks again, oscarmike.

Contact Spartan with your VIN and get the "Electrical Systems Guide" for your chassis. They'll e-mail it to you for free. Without it you're working in the blind. If you resolve your problem let us know what the fix was.

Oscarmike --
I learned something related to this at Newmar this past week when we were in for a service appointment. Might possibly be of some help to you. I found that after turning on my headlights on the way out to Indiana, I could not turn them off, no matter what I did. I discussing with the Newmar tech, he asked if I had had the windshield wipers on during the trip. I told him I did. He said that this is actually a safety feature. Any time the windshield wipers are on and you turn on the headlights, the headlights remain on no matter what you do on the headlight switch until you shut the coach off when the system resets itself.
I found that all interesting ...
Something to consider if your experience also happened to coincide with use of your windshield wipers.
