After I had my transmission serviced I checked the oil level about two days into our next trip. The panel said 4 qts. low, there was nothing showing on the stick. It took 8 qts. to get it back in the full range.
Allison says no damage was done as the unit did no show any alarm or shut down. It fact everything operated normal.

Any comments?? I'm concerned abou damage.

I'd go with Allison's statement, although I wouldn't go back to that service location.

I had the same problem. Had the filters changed. The tech told me it took 2 quarts to bring it back to full as checked with the pad. Another tech confirmed as he said he had to show the first guy how to do it. I checked it the following day after driving 300 miles and it showed 3 qts low. Put in nearly two quarts as that was all I had in the coach. Drove another 50 miles and checked it again and it read 2 qts low. Added just short of 2 quarts and will check it again once we leave our current location. Before I realized it was three quarts low we were in an area with very long and steep hills so I was monitioring the trans temp very closely. The temp never rose above 200 deg which is still higher than the 192 / 193 it usually runs so I am confident there was no damage done to mine.
