Macerating Toilet Problem

The Dometic macerating toilet in the rear bath sounds like a lawn mower every time it's flushed. I assume something is stuck in the macerator pump but can't find any online video or instruction on what to do about this. The Dometic instructions say to "close the seacocks and clear the debris." (Where are the seacocks?) I'm guessing the toilet would have to be removed, right? Has anyone else had this problem or wants to offer a solution? Thanks!

Seacocks....that is for the 'marine install on a boat'

Your macerator toilet dumps directly into your RV Black Waste Tank.
No shutoff valves on downstream side of macerator

Have to secure water supply, 12V DC power and pull toilet in order to access backside of toilet and macerator pump

When I had my 2014 DS, the rear toilet got plugged. I unbolted the toilet and turned it around to work on it. My mistake, I took it apart inside the coach....big mess. The pump/motor is enclosed in a housing. Remove the entire housing unit as one piece and take it outside and then dismantle. I cleared mine and found nothing else in the unit. When I replaced it, it always whined, much louder than the front toilet. It worked fine until I sold the coach, so I lived with the sound. I did find a replacement motor, which was difficult to locate and was expensive. It's in my spare parts Tupperware box.

Like DSD, I carry a spare as they are a bit hard to find. Here is where I purchased the spare:

Dometic MasterFlush 12V DC Motor Assembly - Dometic, Sealand & Thetford Toilet Repair Parts - Toilets - Plumbing

This actually came shipped from some farm supply co. not Dyers even though I ordered it through them.
$290

Thanks, everyone. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the toilet...it's just loud. I'll try to live with it for now.

We had a similar abnormal loudness in our half bath toilet, as if something had been dropped into the commode and was grinding in the macerator. Much louder than before. It turned out that the toilet mode had inadvertently been selected to "travel mode" by a guest, which leaves the bowl dry and results in a VERY loud flush. Pressing the mode switch for five (5) seconds to reselect the normal ("usable") mode solved our problem.

Hello - my half bath unit started making a noise - and over 4 months it got progressively worse. I assumed the bearings were wearing out. I decided I would rather replace the motor while there was clean water in the commode - and at a time best for me. The new motor cost about $280.00. It was not a difficult job at all - and probably took about 45 minutes overall. It's now very quiet when compared to the old motor - and flushes much better. In my view - it's best to address now rather than it being full of stuff you don't want to deal with...…
