My 07 MADP has developed an annoying squeak emitting from the windshield to overhead cabinet rubber seal. I've tried various lubes to no avail (most make it worse...) Anyone have any suggestions to tightening things up above the dash?

Thanks!

We have the same thing. Most annoying!

Plus, the dash squalls horribly over rough roads.

Our DSDP had a squeak left front also. It turned out to be the valance rubbing against the cabinets over the driver side. The two had rubbed against each other long enough for the cloth cover to rub a hole so that wood on wood caused the squeak. I moved the valance away from the cabinet about a 1/4 inch and problem solved.

Make a visit to your local Wal-Mart kitchen department. You are looking for all their choices of plastic place mats. They may be divided into a couple different areas of the store. There is a plastic place mat that is typically whitish, opaque, smooth, and made from a seemingly slippery plastic. It'll be a whopping couple of dollars.

Cut this into strips and place/shove between the squeaking parts. It acts like a permanent lubricant between the squeaking components. Also handy to place between dash panels and wall panels, wood-to-wood mating surfaces, etc. anywhere that cabinetry or plastic surfaces tend to rub/jiggle/squeak.

Jeff - thanks as always for the help. The mat seems to have worked great!
