MADP seat blowing fuse

Our 2018 MAPD power drivers seat blows 25 amp fuses regularly. The odd thing is the fuse blows even when the seat is not being used! I can replace the fuse while parked and the seat will be fine for a day or 2 then on the 3d day the fuse is blown and it has not been used or even sat in! I am going to find the power wire and disconnect it from the seat and see what happens. I can't find any bare wires and I think this power wire only supplies the seat. Anyone else have this problem?

I suspect you may have pinched some wires in the seat wiring harness; probably when rotating the seat. When they touch, you get a short circuit and a blown fuse. Unplug the wiring harness under the seat and examine it closely for any signs of damage.

Good luck.

I believe the passenger seat is THE single biggest “Fuse Blower” in our coaches! Our passenger seat started randomly blowing its 30 amp fuse with no rhyme or reason as to the cause. I ripped the wire harnesses and bundles and connectors apart and found NO DISCERNABLE SHORTS! I finally gave up and ordered a “autoreset” fuse and installed it in place of the existing 30 amp fuse. That was five years ago... And the seat has worked ever since!
